Skimmer Information

The skimmer is constantly drawing water and floating debris from the surface of the pool water. It catches a lot of the debris before it can sink to the bottom. The skimmer has a leaf basket inside. The basket must be cleaned out frequently. Check the basket at least once a day. To check the basket, simply lift off the skimmer cover. If the basket needs to be emptied, lift the basket straight out of the skimmer. Take the basket and empty the debris away from the pool area, then rinse the small debris off the basket, place the basket back in the skimmer and replace the skimmer cover. Never leave the basket out of the skimmer as the plumbing lines may become clogged. Always leave the skimmer basket in when vacuuming the pool.

Important: your pool water should always be at the proper level.

Your skimmer face plate which is on the pool wall has two small arrows that indicate the minimum water level. The arrows are in the middle of the face plate frame.

Keep the pool water level between the arrows and the top screws on the skimmer face plate frame.

If the water level gets low, the skimmer will draw air. If this goes on for awhile, it may cause damage to your pump.

If the water level is too high (above the skimmer) the skimmer will not skim properly. Drain the water down to the screws on the skimmer face plate frame above the arrows.
